Tami Arasli is an award-winning Executive Producer with over 20 years in the television industry. Her long tenure with Black Entertainment Television (BET), a subsidiary of Viacom allowed her to produce outstanding projects and compelling content for their broadcast and digital platforms.

 

In her executive role, Tami was instrumental to the highly successful launch of the networks Centric, BETJ, BET on Jazz, the Cable Jazz Channel and the rebrand of the latter to BET Jazz.

 

As the Vice President of Original Programming, Music Programming & Specials, and Executive Producer for Centric Tami managed original productions produced by internal producers, external production companies and producers; managed the development slate and vetted pitches; and worked closely with other departments within BET and across VIACOM.

 

Tami’s executive producing credits include:

 

Stevie Wonder & Friends Message of Peace Concert recorded on the floor of the United Nations; Selma to Montgomery 50th Anniversary Concert.

 

Documentaries: “Selma to Montgomery 50th Anniversary”; “Sheroes”; “Of Thee We Sing, The Marian Anderson Story”; “Be Inspired: The Life of Heavy D”; “Hip-Hop Cultural Odyssey”. 

 

Series: Urban Cuisine with Marcus Samuelsson; Lyric Café; and, On the Road with Stanley Clarke.

 

Tami was the Show Runner for the series BEING and As Written.

 

While launching Centric in 2009, as the Executive Producer, Tami was responsible for the successful return of the Soul Train Awards in 2009. Tami’s leadership and managerial style resulted in her being selected as the Executive Producer for five years for the main show, the Soul Train Awards Red Carpet Shows, and the Soul Train Awards Post Shows.

 

At BETJ and BET on Jazz, Tami was the Executive Producer for concerts, hosted music video blocks, lifestyle series, specials and a fleet of music infused series and specials including The House of Duke, a one hour documentary on the life of jazz legend George Duke. Tami recorded numerous shows on location around the world in India, China, Holland, Germany, Italy, Finland, Turkey, Canada, Spain, Switzerland, across Canada and throughout the Caribbean.

 

In 2016, Tami served as a producer on the NAN National Action Network Triumph Awards for TV One.

Tami earned her MBA from George Washington University and her Bachelor of Arts in Communications, specializing in television production from Mount Vernon College.
